Country Bumpkin

Don't get me wrong - I love living in the city.  My balcony has a great view, and I love to sit outside and watch the people pass by.  I love that I'm within walking distance to the city's greatest hot spots.  The best malls, sights and restaurants around.  Also, there's just something... romantic... about living in the city.

Reality check for just a sec... It might be a bit ghetto, after all - my bed is in my living room, but in all honesty, its fantastic!  and I really REALLY love living alone.

That said... ya know where I'd really love to be, right now??

In a small town.

Really.  When I say small town, I really do mean, a small town...  I wanna live in the middle of nowhere.  Where everybody knows your name, ya know?  Like Cheers!!  When you walk down the street and people are actually friendly to you and ask how your day is.  And genuinely want to know.  I want to live like an hour from civilization, where people actually say things like "going into town."

In an old house.

With hardwood floors.  There's something delicious about the smell of hardwood floors in an old house.  How they shine, and just look so classy.  At least two stories.  With a long, covered front porch where I can sit in the evenings with my cocoa or ice cream and watch a lightening and thunderstorm roll in.

On several acres.

Acres that just ramble on.  Perhaps with a little creek or stream that runs through it.  My house would be smack in the middle, so there'd be a long, windy driveway to get there.  Paved or not - doesn't really matter to me.

Surrounded by a white picket fence.

One that would really only surround my house and a small speck of property - maybe half an acre or so...  Not too much that mowing the lawn every weekend would take an eternity - ya know?  It would have to be high enough that my dog couldn't jump it, though.

With a great dane in the yard.

No country house is complete without a dog - right?  I think I need another great dane.  I miss JJ terribly, and I can't wait to get another dane, with lots of room to run and play.  One that I could take anywhere with me, ya know?  It'll sleep on the floor by my bed and run down the drive way, next to my truck.  Just an awesome dog...

Really, just the simple life is ideal for me.  I love it.  City life isn't soo bad for right now, though.  Maybe after school, I'll figure out what my next move will be...
