So I met this guy last summer.
On e-Harmony of all places. We emailed back and forth for kind of a long time and he was pretty cool. Naturally, he said all the right things, was very complimentary - you know the drill...
Then randomly, I got an email from e-harmony that said that I should discontinue any kind of communication with this guy, because they'd done a background check on him and he didn't pass. Apparently they'd closed his profile. Since we'd already been emailing, I asked him about it. Why not - right? His response? "When I trust you more, I'll tell you all about it. But for now, just know that I'm not a danger to you or anyone else."
Well, Okay!
So we emailed a little bit more. And one day when I was up in Ogden, we went out. He took me to a fish hatchery to go "fishing". There was a bench and he started to get all snugly with me, but I wasn't soo much feelin' it - ya know? So we left. And ate at this great little Indian restaurant and then headed back to his place for a bit. He stuck in a movie that I'd never seen and apparently still haven't seen, cuz I have no idea what it was.
I couldn't take the pressure anymore. I had to know.
So I looked at him and asked. And he told me. I got up and left.
Apparently I have no interest in sitting there and listening to him tell me all about how he had some terribly inappropriate relationship with a younger girl, when he was 18. At first, I just figured she was 16, and everything was consensual until her father found out about it. You know how all that goes - right? Nope. she was 8. So I peace'd-out.
blegh...
I really need to start listening to my first instincts about people...
